We’re Ready For You!

As you know, we gave you the ability to leave your membership on free pause, while we transitioned out of the COVID-19 shutdown. This was to be reviewed after 4 weeks of re-opening so we could asses our capacity to meet demand.

With restrictions easing, we have reviewed our capacity to deliver programs and services, and the member experience now on offer. We are thrilled to let you know that we can confidently and safely accommodate all members once more.

What does that mean for my membership?

In terms of your club access and membership fees this means that as of Tuesday 14 July we will end the voluntary Opt-In period for memberships. The complimentary suspension period will also finish up and membership payments will resume for all members as per normal next Tuesday 14 July 2020. 

What if I’m not ready to restart?

If you’re not feeling ready to come back in just yet, that’s ok too. You still have the option to suspend your membership. You still have the option to suspend your membership. Our normal membership terms and conditions apply, which means you can put your membership on hold for $7.50 per week. If you are worried about coming in to the club to do the paperwork, we have created this short-term online suspension form  for suspensions from 2 to 8 weeks. If you want to suspend, please complete this form by the end of the weekend so we can process it on Monday. If you have already put your membership on suspension, that suspension will stay in effect unless you request a change. 

What if I’m too excited to wait until Tuesday?

If you are eager to return to your club before your membership automatically resumes on Tuesday, you can still opt back into your membership and gain a few extra days of enjoying the club for FREE!

To opt in early, simply complete our Online Form. It’s quick, it’s contactless, and it should automatically reactivate your membership so that you can make bookings, use the car park, and swipe in etc when you arrive. 

What is happening with classes and the café?

We will be increasing our classes and café offerings as of Tuesday, however it is still difficult to anticipate the demand so we need your help as we adjust to our new normal.

CLASSES: Your minds and bodies might have different needs post lockdown, and we want to make sure we meet them. If you can please book into the classes that you intend to come to that will help us anticipate demand. We anticipate that from Tuesday we will increase our class numbers by around 50% from current levels and then over coming weeks modify the spread and number of classes according to demand.

CAFÉ: We are currently serving breakfast / brunch and providing coffee, juices, and a range of grab-and-go options. We will start re-introducing some of our dinner specials and hope the member demand will allow us to return to full operation quickly. For regular updates, please check the club Facebook Page. 


UPDATE 15 JUNE 2020

We’re moving to Step 2.2 of Stage 2 on Friday 19 June 2020

In response to the ACT Governments announcement to move to Step 2.2 of Stage 2 within the Canberra Recovery Plan, we are thrilled to announce an increase of capacity to the club, the swimming pool and the re-opening of the Change Rooms.

The key details are:
• Capacity increased from 20 to 100 people per space. 4sqm rule applies.
• Change Rooms will re-open.
• Spa will re-open on basis 4sqm rule is adhered too.
• Sauna and steam room will remain closed.
• Pool capacity will be increased to 4 swimmers per lane.

Following the successful introduction of Step 2.2 of Stage 2, we will move to Stage 3 in July which will see a further easing of restrictions. We will keep you informed as we receive more information and changes can be implemented.

UPDATE 03 JUNE 2020

Next Gen Kings Park to open on Monday 08 June 2020.

We are thrilled to announce that we will reopen on Monday the 8th of June.

We’d like to thank our members for their patience over the past few weeks. It’s been a tough time for everyone and we appreciate the kind support. We will have more details in the coming days, but for now here are a few things you’ll need to know;

1 – We are here for you, and we are safe.
As of Monday morning we will open our doors to members. Our brand purpose states our belief that “there’s more to your health than fitness” and that’s never been more true. Our members’ health is vital, so we’ve reviewed every aspect of how we run the club (including the bits you don’t see) to prepare for a safe return. We will publish a summary of these changes to shortly.

Initial opening hours:
Monday – Thursday:5:30am – 9:30pm
Friday:5:30am – 9:00pm
Saturday:7:00am – 7:00pm
Sunday:7:00am – 6:00pm

2 – We will comply strictly with all Government guidelines.
We will be following the advice of our government health officials at all times. We will constantly review and adjust our restrictions and processes in line with that advice. You can review the current WA COVID-19 guidelines for Fitness and Recreation here

3 – Members can restart their membership when they’re ready.
Membership access and payments will resume on an Opt-In basis. We know many members have been hanging out to get back to their fitness routine. Some of us, however, won’t feel ready just yet – and that’s fine. For now all memberships will remain on free suspension until members are ready to recommence. This will be reviewed as restrictions ease and as we monitor capacity and members will be updated in advance of any changes.

4 – Members will need to let us know when they’re coming in.
Once members are ready to get back into the club, we’ll need them to authorize us to restart their membership payments. This process will need to be contactless, so we are building an online form for this. As soon as it is live we will post it here.

5 – Member’s need to bring their card to swipe in AND out of the club.
This is important. We need to know exactly who is in our Next Gen bubble at all times. We know most people scan in and out regularly, but now it’s even more important that they do. In the first instance it will be key to us controlling our club capacity. And secondly, in the unlikely event that we come into contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, it is critical that we be able to contact members – immediately.

Please continue to be patient with us, and we will email out more information along with the registration form to all our members asap.

UPDATE 23 MARCH 2020

All Australian Next Gen Clubs closed from 12 pm Monday 23rd March 2020.

In accordance with the National Cabinet’s latest restrictions, Next Gen will be closed from 12 pm Monday 23rd March 2020 for an initial 4-week period.

While we hope to be back open as soon as possible, we will adhere to the guidelines established by the Australian Government and keep all of our members as up to date as possible. 

What this means for members?

  • All member fees will be suspended free of charge until we re-open. 
  • There will be no direct-debit charged on Tuesday 24/03/20.
  • Any time lost during the club closure will be added onto annual membership or suspended membership. 

What do we have planned for members?

Helping our members maintain their health and wellbeing during this difficult time is of upmost importance to Next Gen.

Because of this, we will be introducing a series of home workouts to help you stay fit and healthy during this time.
